Florence Van Dyke

Global Sustainability Lead at New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, and Co-founder of Chia Sisters – Aotearoa’s first solar powered beverage company.

Florence is the Global Sustainability Lead at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and co-founder of Chia Sisters, a health beverage company supplying cafes and supermarkets nationally and in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Chia Sisters operates from a solar-powered, net-zero carbon juicery in Whakatū Nelson and is listed in the top 5% of all B Corps globally for environmental impact. Florence is a Trustee and Co-Founder of Businesses for Climate Action supporting hundreds of businesses in the Te Tau Ihu region to measure and reduce carbon emissions. For her work in business and climate change, she is recognised on the Forbes 30 under 30 List, as an Edmund Hillary Fellow and a Global Woman Asia Fellow. 

Florence is a lawyer by training, previously working at corporate law firm Bell Gully and in the prosecution team at the United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Recently she returned from San Francisco where she graduated from UC Berkeley with a Masters of Laws focused on business and climate change. At Berkeley she was a Yvonne Smith Scholar and awarded first in class for Business and Climate Change Strategy.
