Devon Murphy-Davids

Chief Executive at Inspiring Stories, passionate about great leadership, supporting the next generation to flourish and realise their potential.

Devon (she/her) is the Chief Executive at Inspiring Stories. She is of Māori-Irish descent, with whakapapa to Te Āti Awa and identifies as takatapui. She is a mother of three children and has two whāngai daughters that have experience in the care system.

Devon has a wealth of experience having worked in the youth and community development sector over the past two decades. She believes that great leadership is not about having all the answers, but having the right questions. She is passionately driven to see all rangatahi in this motu feel valued, having an equal opportunity to flourish into their full potential.

Over the past decade Inspiring Stories has supported thousands of young people to connect, build capability, and make a difference in communities across Aotearoa and beyond. To date, the flagship initiatives run by the team at Inspiring Stories have included Festival for the Future, the Future Leaders programme, The Impact Awards, and the social enterprise speaker bureau – Inspiring Speakers.
